The Purdue Sailing Team was founded in 1948 as a club sport under the recreational sports division of Purdue University. Comprised of both recreational and competitive sailing, the team has something to offer for people with any level of sailing experience, from novice to expert. We’re active in the Fall and Spring semesters, weather permitting.  

Our team sails Club 420 dinghies for practice and the majority of our regattas, though we also sail FJs, T-10s, and other boats, depending on the regatta.

We travel around all around the country to participate in as many diverse regattas as we can muster. We’ve sailed all around the Midwest, and are looking to travel more and sail in more varying climates, bodies of water, and in different boats.

We practice every weekend we can on both Saturdays and Sundays from roughly 9 am to 4 pm. Our practice facilities are located at Eagle Creek Sailing Club, as seen in the map below:

 
 

Fall 2023 Practices and regattas

  • We require signups for practices by the end of Thursday preceding the weekend of the practice and regattas 2 weeks in advance of the date of that event.
